How To Disable The HomeGroup Feature In Window 7, 8, 8.1 & 10

HomeGroup make sharing files and printers with other computers in a very simple way. If you want to remove it from window explorer 

Follow these steps to disable HomeGroup on your computer in windows 7, 8, 8.1 & 10

METHOD 1

1. Type "Services" in the start search bar box, and then click the HomeGroup Desktop app





2. In the right-hand pane of the service window, scroll down and find the HomeGroup listerner



3. Right click the HomeGroup listerner to open its properties window


4. In the properties window, select Disabled from the startup type, click apply, and the click OK




METHOD 2

1. Type "Regedit" in the start search bar box, and then click the regedit run command to open registry editor




2. In the registry editor, use the left siderbar to navigate to the following keys 
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\{B4FB3F98-C1EA-428d-A78A-D1F5659CBA93}. This key is protected so you will need to take ownership of it before you can do editing.How to gain full permission to edit protected Registry keys



3. Right click it and choose NEW>DWORD (32-bit) value. Name the value System.IsPinnedTONameSpaceTree

Set to 0 which is the setting you want to remove HomeGroup from File Explorer. Restart your PC to make changes on your computer
